Server: trackers.moongpstracker.com (169.58.68.140), TCP. Some firmware refuses domain names — then use the IP.

What it is

The five-pin Coban-style clones are a family of cheap wired trackers built on the original Coban design and sold under a long list of names. They speak the h02 protocol, the same as Sinotrack, and connect to the same port.

What sets them apart is the command set: they take adminip with a numeric IP, and only that. We publish this page separately from the Sinotrack one precisely because the shared protocol hides a real difference.

What you need

  • A data SIM in the device, and the APN string for that SIM
  • The SIM's phone number for the SMS below
  • The device IMEI, printed on the case

APN examples

The APN belongs to the SIM, not to the tracker. These are the two we use ourselves:

  • 1NCE: iot.1nce.net
  • Truphone: iot.truphone.com

On both, the APN username and password are empty — which is the usual case on IoT SIMs. If your SIM comes from a mobile operator, ask them for all three values.

SMS commands

One command, with the numeric IP. 123456 is the factory password.

Point it at Moon
adminip123456 169.58.68.140 5013

The IP is not a shortcut: this hardware wants a numeric address. The device reconnects on its own, usually within a few minutes.

When you cannot tell the two h02 families apart, send both
8040000 trackers.moongpstracker.com 5013

Each device executes the command it understands and ignores the other. On a bench of unlabelled clones this is faster than identifying every unit first.

After the device is configured it turns up in Unknown devices in the Moon panel — or straight on your map, if you registered its identifier first. The first position normally lands within minutes.

What Moon shows you

  • Live position, speed and full trip history with stops and addresses
  • Ignition state on units wired to the ignition line
  • Supply voltage and the internal backup battery
  • Power-cut and movement alarms as the device raises them

What it does not do

  • No CAN data, no vehicle odometer.
  • Clones differ from batch to batch: what appears in Moon is what the device sends, and we would rather check yours than quote a datasheet.

Which values arrive depends on the device and the installation, never on your licence: every Moon account has the whole platform. See what the platform does.

Gotchas

The things that cost us time on real vehicles, written down so they do not cost you any.

804 is delivered and ignored (verified)

We sent 804 to these units with delivery confirmed by the SIM platform, and nothing changed — no acknowledgement, no reconfiguration, no change of server. It is not a coverage problem or a password problem: the firmware does not implement the command.

adminip with the numeric IP works, and migrates the device in a few minutes.

The practical rule for a mixed batch

Send BOTH commands to every device: 804 and adminip. Each unit executes its own and ignores the other. You lose two SMS per device and save an afternoon of identifying hardware by sight.

Hostnames are not worth trying here

Where a Sinotrack resolves trackers.moongpstracker.com happily, these clones want the numeric address. Use 169.58.68.140 — it is published in public DNS as the same host, so nothing is being hidden from you.

Factory password

The commands on this page use the factory password (123456, and 0000 in the 804 form). A tracker left on its factory password can be reconfigured by anyone who knows its SIM number. Change it, or use SIMs that cannot receive SMS from outside numbers — the 1NCE and Truphone SIMs we ship are set up that way.

Coban-style h02 clones: questions we get asked

How do I know whether I have a Coban clone or a Sinotrack?
By which command it answers. Send 804 first; if nothing happens, send adminip. The unit that moves after adminip and ignored 804 is a Coban-style clone. On a batch, just send both to everything.
Why do you publish the IP instead of the hostname?
Because this hardware does not resolve names reliably and we would rather print the command that works than the one that reads better. 169.58.68.140 is the address behind trackers.moongpstracker.com and is already public in DNS.
How long does it take to migrate?
A few minutes after the adminip command is delivered. If nothing has arrived in half an hour, the APN is the next thing to check.
Should I keep buying these?
For simple position tracking on a low budget they work. If you need engine cut, reliable inputs or voltage monitoring, the money is better spent on Teltonika hardware — tell us what the fleet has to do and we will say which one you actually need.

Two ways to go from here

Send the commands yourself and register the device in the panel, or tell us what you have and we will confirm what it can do on Moon before you commit to anything.

No account yet? Send us the make and model and we will set the device up on a demo account for you.

Not sure it is the right model? Send it to support@moongpstracker.com and we will tell you before you buy.
